On the 12th January 2007, the European Expanded Clay Association (EXCA) was founded.
For the first time in history, all the major players in the expanded clay industry in Europe have formed one association, which will have offices in Bruxelles.
EXCA will from the start consist of the following 15 member companies: Argex (Belgium), Dansk Leca (Denmark), Fibo Exclay Deutschland (Germany), Laterlite (Italy), Liapor (Germany), Lias Österreich (Austria), Lias Vintirov (Czech Republic), maxit Denmark, maxit Estonia, maxit Finland, maxit Norway, maxit Poland, maxit Portugal, maxit Spain and Svensk Leca (Sweden).
The Board of EXCA has the following members:
- Kjell Håkon Helgesen - President (maxit Group)
- Gian Domenico Giovannini - Vice President (Laterlite)
- Gerhard Nedoma (Liapor)
- Poul Steen Rasmussen (maxit Denmark)
- Kurt Vernimmen (Argex Belgium)
Two EXCA working groups are already established: Working Group Standards and Use and Working Group Production and Environment. Both groups will be headed by representants from maxit Group.
