maxit SL, (Spain) has reached an agreement to acquire the premix provider Morteros Tisa S.L. in La Roda de Andalucia, Seville province in South of Spain.

After some investments in bagging capacity, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 45,000 tonnes. Production comprises today a wide range of façade products and tile adhesives.

10 people work at the plant which was erected only three years ago, and reached a turnover last year of 2.2 M€.

The plant is already certified by ISO 9001. Morteros Tisa is producing some interesting products (as lime mortars and light façade products) that will complement the maxit Spain range. In addition during next months some maxit products will be aligned to be produced there.

“The market in Spain is very local, says Jesus Peñafiel, country manager of Spain. With the new plant we will have the possibility to further focus on this part of the country.”

maxit (Spain) will take over operations as of 1 May, 2005.
